INSTRUCTOR

Steven M. Tipton

Dr. Steven Tipton is a faculty member in the College of Engineering & Natural Sciences at The University of Tulsa (TU), where he received the Frank W. Murphy Distinguished Professor Award.  He has been with TU for over 20years teaching classes on Mechanical Engineering Design, Structural Fatigue, Interdisciplinary Design,and Mechanics of Materials.     He has consulted for many companies including ConocoPhillips, Schlumberger, Nordam, Fin Tube, BP, John Deere, Crosby McKissick, Ford, and Zebco.     Steve received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.     He is a member of ASME, ASTM, SAE, and the International Coiled Tubing Association.
