| Norman J. Hyne, Ph.D., is a Certified Petroleum Geologist (#4120). He is a Professor of Petroleum Geology in TU’s Continuing Engineering & Science Education Department. He received a B.A. from Pomona College, an M.S. from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. All degrees are in geology. Norm has been published in numerous scientific journals and has authored the books: 1) A Nontechnical Guilde to Petroleum Geology, Exploration, and Drilling- 1st and 2nd Editions (PennWell Books), 2) Geology for Petroleum Exploration, Drilling and Production (McGraw-Hill), 3) Finding and Producing Oil and Gas (ETI), and 4) Dictionary of Petroleum Exploration, Drilling and Production (PennWell Books). Dr. Hyne has taught the Basic Petroleum Geology for the Non-Geologist seminar since 1979 through The University of Tulsa. He also lectures for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and for many training departments of several major oil companies. He is a member of SPE, AAPG, GSA, SEG, and the Tulsa Geological Society. |
