Mr. Lewis Mosburg is retiring after the October 2011 class on Fundamentals of Titles, Leases and Contracts.  If this is the immediate training you are needing, please plan to register in this last public class.  The University of Tulsa, CESE, will continue to  offer Petroleum Land Practices programs and currently is screening and seeking instructors in this field.   TU-CESE plans to offer these classes in the Spring, 2012.

This course provides a detailed introduction and review of land titles, leases and contracts for the new and experienced landman, and land support staff. It offers an overview of the significance of the "land" issues for members of the exploration team and company management.

Mosburg uses a practical application approach and will take you through useful and extensive exercises emphasizing titles and leases with an introduction of Farmout and Joint Operating Agreements.

Objectives:

Mr. Mosburg uses "real-world problems and real-world solutions" in this practical applications seminar.

  • Rights and obligation osf the oil and gas lease
  • The effect of royalty, dealy rental, shut-in royalty, Pugh, "Mother Hubbard", commence drilling-continuous operation, and other lease clases
  • The negotiation, use, and interpretationof Farmout and Joint Operating Agreements
