Verification Testing, How Clean is Clean?
In the absence of an accepted standard practice, the initial presence of sub-visible mold and the verification of mold remediation effectiveness remains one of the most controversial aspects of indoor mold contamination. Should emphasis be on air or surface sampling, or both? How useful and accurate are the newer molecular and enzymatic methods? And what about indicator microorganisms or other biomarkers? The workshop faculty of David Krause, Phil Morey, Carl Grimes, and Gene Cole will address the topic of “how clean is clean” from a standard-of-care approach that utilizes the latest information from relevant field studies, combined with the latest scientific and technological research data.
Overview of IICRCS-520 Mold Remediation Standard
The IICRC S520 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation is a national consensus, peer reviewed standard-of-care for remediators that represents a significant shift away from previous guidance documents and towards a scienced based set of principles. Get the inside scoop from some of the inside authors of S520: Larry Cooper, Gene Cole, Jim Holland, Jeff Bishop and Carl Grimes. Learn what is similar and what is different about S520 and why there are no numbers. As a remediation document, S520 will be an excellent introduction to the symposium focus on developing standards for assessment.
